Lately my boys have been very much into steak and what they call "man meals". Some nonsense about muscles and getting 'juiced'.....Not sure where they picked up this term (Mr. Barry Bonds), but in their defense they do attend public school and so much of what they learn could be attributed to life on the mean streets of Danville (it's rough out here in NorCal).

Admittidly, as much as I want to, I cannot claim this steak recipe as my own. My friend Matt has been making this dish for years and I finally got him to send me the breakdown. It took years of pleading and a large bottle of Makers Mark to get him to caugh up the goods so I hope you all enjoy it. With the way he guarded this recipe you would think it has been handed down from generations past....now that I have it, I am going to share it with all of you. Maybe next time he'll just cough up the goods and not make a pal wait so long!!

Lately I have made a commitment to start cooking for myself on the nights I don't have my boys. Usually I nuke a lean pocket, crack open a beer and call it a night. I found this recipe in Men's Health while reading about all the exercises that might bring back my abs (I forgot how hard it was to get back in shape - weights are heavy). After being completely discouraged by the length of time it is going to take to get back my washboard stomach I decided to just go with the Skirt Steak and a beer instead. So, I made this recipe and I was blown away. I absolutely loved it. Find a perfect steak and this is a great meal for one or two people.

Once again my mother has given me the direct order to stop eating dinner at the Brass Rail and sucking down Jamba Juice instead of cooking for myself (apparently she has some fascination with me continuing to further seclude myself in my home). And, admittedly I spend way too much money eating out. Hey I'm single....
