Ghosts and Lobsters, Please...

This week your favorite single dad is recommending a great novel by Tim Dorsey and one of the greatest family movies of all time...

Atomic Lobster by Tim Dorsey

Although this is Dorsey's tenth novel and I am sure some readers will chastise me for not recommending his works in order, I recently re-read Atomic Lobster and have no choice but to tell you all to order this one ASAP.  Filled with sex, violence and 'Dumb and Dumber' type action, Atomic Lobster is a fast read that will keep you laughing and entertained all the way through.  Filled with strippers, drug addicts, weird Granny investigators, a band of Hillbilly killers and various other extremely nefarious characters, Dorsey's brand of comedy isn't for everyone however this fast-moving tale brings in the authors usual schtick while skewering everyone and everything along the way.

 Atomic Lobster will not disappoint.

Ghostbusers

Flat out funny and extremely inventive - Ghostbusters is a movie this single father and his boys can watch over and over again.  If you haven't popped this DVD in the player for your family to enjoy you NEED to - trust me.  I know many of you may have forgotten about this old favorite, but once you watch it again you will remember how much you loved it.  Directed by Ivan Reitman (the genius who brought the world Stripes) and Harold Ramis (Stripes genius), Ghostbusters brings the laughs as only Bill Murray, Rick Moranis (my man from Strange Brew) and Dan Aykroyd can.  The crew from such comedy legends as Caddyshack, Stripes, Strange Brew bring all their powers together for good and serve up an amazing family comedy.

I also read this book on your recommendation and ended up loving it. I almost stopped reading it, cuz it took a while to get hooked, but by the end I was sad it was over. I just love that Serge! (sorry if I spelled that wrong, I actually listen to my books on CD while I work, and didn't see the spelling of his name). The author uses irony like I've rarely seen. I'll have to check out his other books if there just as good.

I read this book, on your recommendation, and loved it. At first I was questioning your choice, but I refused to wimp out and by the end of the book I totally enjoyed reading Atomic Lobster.

So, I posted a question regarding this book in the Forum: Say Hi, etc...Where is everyone? Not to double post but I may need to hit you up for some discussion topics on this book if it wins the vote in my BookClub, are you game?
