Recently I took a trip to Dallas and spent a few days at the very swanky Hotel Za Za. Unlike your typical upscale joint where you find Godiva on your pillow, the Hotel Za Za leaves its guests with Ring Pops. Seriously. Ring Pops?? One other thing, after 11pm the pool of Hotel Za Za is regularly frequented by 'girls of the night'. Very young, very attractive girls of the night. Weird place. Upscale, but weird.
The night I was to arrive in Dallas my flight was diverted to Austin where this single dad sat in a hot plane next to a sweaty, fat guy for two hours with no air conditioning because of a rain storm. You would think the Dallas Airport was run by tough guy cowboys who laugh at the sight of some rain and few storm clouds, but apparently not. A few hard rain showers and DFW shuts up tighter than a Nun's ass. What a bunch of real tough guys out in Dallas...
Regardless of the fact that I was originally to arrive in Dallas by 8:30pm and be drinking beers poolside by 10:30 only to end up in the hotel by 12 midnight I still have only good things to say about my stay at the Za Za. Hookers, Ring Pops and Martini glasses filled with Hot Tamales aside, Hotel Za Za opened my eyes to one of the most delicious treats I have ever had the pleasure of devouring...Squirrel Brand, Creme Brulee Almonds.
Loaded with 160 calories, 130 Fat Calories and 35 Grams of Sugar per serving these bad boys aren't for the faint of heart. Nor are they for anyone who cares about contracting diabetes for that matter.
But, if you can deal with the guilt that goes along with enjoying such a delight these gems are for you. Trust me these Squirrel Brand Nuts are worth the guilt...
