Recently I took my boys out to eat at a place I am sure many of you are familiar with, Dave & Busters.  Outside of the fact that dinner, drinks and games for me and my boys runs upwards of $200 in this place, the food is decent and there are tons of TV's.  Dave & Busters provides me the opportunity to watch sports, have a few beers and allows my boys to run around like heathens in a place where such behavior is relatively acceptable.

That being said, what I witnessed at Dave & Busters that fateful night was truly horrifying and socially void of any concern for fashion, my eyes or the true essence of sandals and their arch enemy, the sock.....

Hey bro, unless you are trekking the likes of the Euphrates River and have a true reason for wearing sandals with straps, shoes such as Tevas should never be worn in public.  And, to all you crusty folks out there, neither should Birkenstocks for that matter.  The only thing that would have made this outfit better would have been jean shorts.  Wait, he actually has them on!!  Nothing screams badass like jean shorts on a grown man.  This is one guy who could actually benefit from an Affliction T-shirt. 

Just as an FYI my man, sandals with straps are reserved for volunteers in the Red Cross and the Peace Corps.  Tevas were designed to be worn in raging rivers that would otherwise flush your flip flops down Nature's drain.  Seriously, why in the world is this guy wearing Tevas indoors?  Even worse, he is wearing these hideous sandals with socks.  The moment I saw this cat I knew I had to snap a pic.  Way too priceless!!

Look, regardless of your station in life, the fact that you are 100 years old or whether you are actually dragging your life supplies up the river banks of the Euphrates, socks should never be worn with any type of sandal.  Not even Moses had the sack to rock wool socks under his Jerusalem Cruisers.....

And this guy was on a date for Pete's sake.  The only thing worse was his silly T-shirt.  The damn thing had a rabbit sticking out of top hat on the front and read "Practical Magic".  Uhhh, ok??  What's the over/under on whether or not this guy got any action that night? 

What in the hell is up with this???

I am impressed how you are really into your blog...it was "fun time" and yet you are thinking about your blog...relax.. use your cam to capture the fun times of the kids... i would love to see your children's photos posted like you did before... capture their smiles and that will make us smile too.. They are so charming...so adorable.. (They probably took after their Nana, huh??!!??)

I have to (shamefully) admit I have been known to sport my Keen's with socks. I justify it by saying I run in them during the summer and my feet would reek if I didn't...ok, my feet reek anyway cuz I also wear them in water and while hiking (they really are an amazing shoe!!!) but somehow they have made it into everyday wear. Thanks for opening my eyes ~ I'll try to never go out in public like that again.

There is another clothing faux pas you need to keep your camera phone ready to catch. It is the sport cut tank shirt wearing momma that has her bra straps showing. Now I can appreciate that a cute girl with a pretty bra strap might not be so bad, that's not what I'm talking about. Yesterday I was leaving Costco and in good RDads fashion I popped out my cell and nabbed a picture of a lady with a granny bra strap hanging out of her tank. Not only was it a wide strap one, it also looked like it hadn't been washed in a while. It was NOT pretty! Maybe she'll read this and her eyes will be opened too!
